Born on August 5, 1872 in Troy, Wisconsin, Doc Adkins (Merle Theron Adkins) played for the Boston Americans and New York Highlanders over the course of his 2 year career. Adkins broke into the bigs on June 24, 1902 with the Boston Americans.
