Born on August 17, 1937 in Holguin, Cuba, Diego Segui (Diego Pablo (Gonzalez) Segui) played for the Kansas City Athletics, Washington Senators, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Pilots, St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners over the course of his 15 year career. Segui broke into the bigs on April 12, 1962 with the Kansas City Athletics, and put up a 3.86 ERA in 116.2 innings pitched in 1962, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Diego Segui's best season was 1969, when he posted a 3.35 ERA, won 12 games, notched 12 saves and struck out 113 batters.
