Diego "Chico" Corrales Dies In Motorcycle Accident

The boxing world is shocked today to learn of the death of former world champion Diego "Chico" Corrales.  Corrales was killed Monday night in a motorcycle accident on the Las Vegas Strip.  According to Corrales promoter Gary Shaw the fighter was riding his motorcycle at a high speed when he crashed into the back of a car.  Corrales was ejected from the motorcycle and killed.

"He fought recklessly and he lived recklessly," Shaw said. "That was his style."

Corrales is perhaps best known for his series of wars with Jose Luis Castillo. Many boxing observers feel their first fight, which Corrales won by 10th round TKO, was the best fight in boxing history.

Truly a shame.  Corrales was always a warrior in the ring even when he was outmatched.  He is a fighter that will truly be missed.  Our hearts go out to his family and the boxing community.
