Did They Even Show Up?

The score was 23-0 at the end of the first quarter. 37-7 was the score at the half. 44-20 was the final. The game was over at the end of the first quarter! The first quarter!! Unbelieveable. There was no energy or passion from the Ravens from start to finish. Tom Brady's Hundini Act from Monday Night was still affecting the Ravens. You would've thought the Ravens would come out with revenge on their minds; with a certain determination about them; wanting to impose their will and pride. Nothing. Absolutely positively nothing. Zilch! Nada! It was a pathetic showing by the Ravens.
Peyton Manning didn't even break a sweat. Wasn't even knocked down at all throughout his time in the game. Colts receivers were WIDE open for their respective touchdowns. Granted, the Ravens were without their starting CBs, but they should've had help over the top. No such luck there. The Colts killed the Ravens softly. Manning put himself in the history books while on his way to a win. NFL need to impliment a mercy rule.
The consistent inconsistency of Kyle Boller showed it's ugly head again. He threw three interceptions and lost a fumble. Wait......he did have a touchdown pass. We can't forget about that. Are we shocked by this performance? Not really. But there was a small possibility that Boller would have a good showing against the Colts. That didn't happen. It wasn't even an average performance. He's veteran that played like a rookie. Willis McGahee lost a fumble too.
The Ravens had one of their punts blocked because one of the Colts DBs came in unblocked. UNBLOCKED!! The lack of focus was evident.
On a lighter note, Troy Smith scored his first NFL touchdown in the final two minutes of the game. He showed good pocket awareness and movement outside of the pocket. The former Heisman winner showed off his great arm, even completing a pass on the move. His first touchdown could've been a TD pass, but Yamon Figurs decided not to dive for the ball. But a couple of plays later, Troy Smith ran in for the first TD of his career.
Yamon Figurs is going to be weapon for the Ravens. He returned a kickoff for touchdown by cutting back off the wedge and displaying his world class speed. It was a thing of beauty.
Besides the offensive line blocking fairly well throughout the game, there weren't many positives for the Ravens in this game. That's the Ravens 7th straight lost. Back to the drawing board with even more questions and fewer answers. Next week, the Ravens play the Dolphins in MIA. Lets hope that the Ravens don't lose to the Dolphins because that would be a new low.
