Dickey Pearce (Richard J. Pearce) was born on February 29, 1836 in Brooklyn, New York. He made his Major League debut on May 18, 1871 for the New York Mutuals. In 1871, his rookie year, he hit .270 with 0 home runs and 20 RBI. Pearce played for the New York Mutuals, Brooklyn Atlantics and St. Louis Brown Stockings over the course of his 7 year career.
