Dick Wilkins (Richard M. Wilkins) was born on September 28, 1925 in Portland, Oregon. After going to high school at Lincoln (Portland, OR), Wilkins attended the University of Oregon. Wilkins made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1949 with the Los Angeles Dons. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Los Angeles Dons the entire time. Wilkins also played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys over the course of his 2 year NFL career.

Most people believe that 1949 was Dick Wilkins's best year, as he had 589 receiving yards.
