Dick Wedel (Richard Wesley Wedel) was born on May 29, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio. After going to high school at Fort Pierce (FL), Wedel attended Wake Forest University. Wedel made his professional debut in the NFL in 1948 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
