Dick Todd (Richard S. Todd) was born on October 2, 1914 in Thrall, Texas. After going to high school at Crowell (TX), Todd attended Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University. Todd made his professional debut in the NFL in 1939 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1940 was Dick Todd's best year, as he ran in 4 TDs, caught 4 TD passes and ran back a punt for a touchdown.
