Dick Stovall (Richard S. Stovall) was born on June 4, 1922 in Albany, Texas. Stovall attended Abilene Christian University. Stovall made his professional debut in the NFL in 1947 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins over the course of his 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1947 was Dick Stovall's best year.
