Dick Spain (Richard Raymond Spain) was born on May 20, 1893 in Evansville, Indiana. After going to high school at Central (Evansville, IN), Spain attended none. Spain made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Evansville Crimson Giants. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Evansville Crimson Giants the entire time. Spain also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Evansville Crimson Giants the entire time.
