Dick Porter (Richard Twilley Porter) was born on December 30, 1901 in Princess Anne, Maryland. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1929 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1929, his rookie year, he hit .328 with 1 home run and 24 RBI. Porter played for the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Dick Porter's best season was 1932, when he hit for a .308 average and knocked in 60 runs.
