Dick Newsome

Born on December 13, 1909 in Ahoskie, North Carolina, Dick Newsome (Heber Hampton Newsome) played for the Boston Red Sox for his entire 3 year career. Newsome broke into the bigs on April 25, 1941 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 4.13 ERA in 213.2 innings pitched in 1941, his rookie year.
