[edit] Biography

Born on March 18, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, Dick Littlefield (Richard Bernard Littlefield) played for the Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Browns, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants, Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Braves over the course of his 9 year career. Littlefield broke into the bigs on July 7, 1950 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.54 ERA in 94 innings pitched in 1952, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Dick Littlefield's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1954, when he posted a 3.86 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 97 batters. However, others believe that it was 1956, when he posted a 4.37 ERA and struck out 80 batters.
