Born on September 27, 1911 in Washington, D.C., Dick Lanahan (Richard Anthony Lanahan) played for the Washington Senators and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 4 year career. Lanahan broke into the bigs on September 15, 1935 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 4.25 ERA in 108 innings pitched in 1940, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Dick Lanahan's best season was 1940, when he posted a 4.25 ERA.
