Dick Howser (Richard Dalton Howser) was born on May 14, 1936 in Miami, Florida. He made his Major League debut on April 11, 1961 for the Kansas City Athletics. In 1961, his rookie year, he hit .280 with 3 home runs and 45 RBI. Howser played for the Kansas City Athletics, Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Dick Howser's best season was 1961, when he stole 37 bases and hit for a .280 average.
