Dick Degen (Richard Degen) was born on March 4, 1942 in Jamestown, North Dakota. After going to high school at Bellflower (CA), Degen attended California State University, Long Beach and Cerritos JC. Degen made his professional debut in the AFL in 1965 with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the San Diego Chargers for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1965 was Dick Degen's best year.
