Dick Buckley (Richard D. Buckley) was born on September 21, 1858 in Troy, New York. He made his Major League debut on April 20, 1888 for the Indianapolis Hoosiers. In 1888, his rookie year, he hit .273 with 5 home runs and 22 RBI. Buckley played for the Indianapolis Hoosiers, New York Giants, St. Louis Perfectos and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Dick Buckley's best season was 1892, when he knocked in 52 runs.
