Dick Bertell (Richard George Bertell) was born on November 21, 1935 in Oak Park, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on September 22, 1960 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1961, his rookie year, he hit .273 with 2 home runs and 33 RBI. Bertell played for the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 7 year career.
