Deshea Townsend (Trevor Deshea Townsend) was born on September 8, 1975 in Batesville, Mississippi. After going to high school at South Panola (Batesville, MS), Townsend attended the University of Alabama. Townsend made his professional debut in the NFL in 1998 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 9 year career.

Most people believe that 2004 was Deshea Townsend's best year, as he picked off 4 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
