Denver Crawford (Denver J. Crawford) was born on June 16, 1921 in Kingsport, Tennessee. After going to high school at Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN), Crawford attended the University of Tennessee. After being drafted by the Green Bay Packers, Denny opted to sign a more lucrative deal with the NFL's rival league at the time. Crawford made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1948 with the New York Yankees. He played for the New York Yankees for his entire 1 year career.
