[edit] Biography

Born on September 13, 1968 in Gambrills, Maryland, Denny Neagle (Dennis Edward Neagle) played for the Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees and Colorado Rockies over the course of his 13 year career. Neagle broke into the bigs on July 27, 1991 with the Minnesota Twins, and put up a 4.48 ERA in 86.1 innings pitched in 1992, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Denny Neagle's best season was 1997, when he posted a 2.97 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 172 batters.

Neagle was also one of the players named in baseball's Mitchell Report. According to the report, Neagle met former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski in 2000 while Neagle was a member of the Yankees. Radomski claims that the pair engaged in 5 or 6 transactions involving both HGH and steroids. Radomski gave the authorities copies of 8 checks written by Neagle, as well as a check from a Colorado clubhouse attendant with the name Neagle written on the memo line. Neagle's name and several telephone numbers were found in Radomski's seized address book.

Like many players, Neagle did not respond when investigators for the Mitchell Report asked for an interview.
