Born on April 18, 1959 in Los Angeles, California, Dennis Rasmussen (Dennis Lee Rasmussen) played for the San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 12 year career. Rasmussen broke into the bigs on September 16, 1983 with the San Diego Padres, and put up a 4.57 ERA in 147.2 innings pitched in 1984, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dennis Rasmussen's best season was 1986, when he posted a 3.88 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 131 batters.
