Dennis Green flamin' hot

Vote

A livid Dennis Green at the postgame conference after the epic meltdown against Chicago. A little profanity makes it past the censors live on ESPNEWS. Classic.

He has everyright to be completly pissed off at the way his team played. To lose a game and have your defense not give up one TD is just terrible.

You seem to have missed that he didn't answer the question and basically threw the tirade just to get out of the room. He knows his job is toast. The Bidwells need to SELL this team to someone who will spend money where it's needed (coordinators, front office). The stadium was a smokescreen. SELL the team.

I think your right. It looked like the Cards were taking steps in the right direction, but it was all smoke and mirrors. They brought in some big name players but failed to bring in the meat and potatos guys. Till they drop cash on linemen and those type of players.

Let's see, the Cardinals out-possessed and outgained the Bears by nearly 2-1 ratios each, and had two turnovers to the Bears' six (!), four by Rex Grossman alone. A blowout win for the Cards, right? Except that both of those turnovers were run back for scores. I wonder how much the Cards, or any other team for that matter, practice the transition game (i.e. the offensive unit as defense, or vice versa, following a turnover). Given the somewhat random nature of turnovers (not just when they occur but where on the field and in relation to the 22 players), I wonder if it's even something that can be practiced for. One thing's for sure though, the Cards' offense had a lousy transition game last night.

The Cardinals were directly responsible for ALL of the points except one field goal. Leinart's fumble was on an audible that the RB didn't pick up his assignment. Edge tried too hard to keep going (hard to fault him for that, but) even after he was wrapped up and everyone was standing around watching him... and WHY punt it to a return guy when the Bears offense was doing NOTHING?

Green had a good gameplan i'm sure and he saw some weaknesses in the Bear's defense that he was able to exploit for the most part. HUGE mistake not blocking or even keeping an eye on the Defensive Player of the Year 2005. oh and i absolutely loved how the tide seemed to turn right when Kornheiser was rambling on about if the Cardinals should lose, they should close the dome because there's no way for a team to recover from that. comedy gold i tell you!

You think ESPNews is gonna start going for a 7-second delay on all postgame press conferences from now on?

No, they're on cable. The national network broadcast of the Superbowl is an entirely different matter.
