Dennis Dixon
[edit] BiographyDennis Dixon (born January 11, 1985 in Oakland, California), is an outfielder drafted by the Atlanta Braves on June 7th, 2007. He plays Quarterback for The University of Oregon and is in his Senior season. [edit] FootballDixon is currently a headcase in a battle for the starting quarterback job for the Oregon Ducks football squad. He is competing with Brady Leaf, younger brother of NFL player Ryan Leaf. At 6'4" and weighing in at 196 lbs, the athletic Dixon is the general of Oregon's potent spread offense. The junior holds the 40 yard dash record for a quarterback at Oregon with a time of 4.49 seconds. Through Oregon's first six games of the 2006 season, Dixon has thrown for 1,439 yards and 10 touchdowns, while running for another 228 yards and two scores. Before playing with Oregon, he started in High School at San Leandro High School. He was nearly undefeated throughout his three years being on the varsity football team during the season under the coaching of Scott Nady with all three defeats coming to powerhouse De La Salle in the NCS championships. Dixon, in his junior season, led the Oregon Ducks to a seemingly dominant beginning. Victories included a come from behind win over the Oklahoma Sooners and going 4-0 in the season. Dixon's season went sour as he only threw for one touchdown and numerous interceptions in the Duck's last 6 games. Dixon won the starting Quarterback spot coming out of Spring Practices and currently holds the position going into the 2007 Fall practices and season.
