Born on October 4, 1962 in LaMarque, Texas, Dennis Cook (Dennis Bryan Cook) played for the San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, Florida Marlins, New York Mets and Anaheim Angels over the course of his 15 year career. Cook broke into the bigs on September 12, 1988 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 3.72 ERA in 121 innings pitched in 1989, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dennis Cook's best season was 1998, when he posted a 2.38 ERA and struck out 79 batters.
