[edit] Biography

Born on October 5, 1939 in Oakland, California, Dennis Bennett (Dennis John Bennett) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets and California Angels over the course of his 7 year career. Bennett broke into the bigs on May 12, 1962 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.81 ERA in 174.2 innings pitched in 1962, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Dennis Bennett's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1964, when he posted a 3.68 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 125 batters. However, others believe that it was 1962, when he posted a 3.81 ERA and struck out 149 batters.
