Del Young (Delmer Edward Young) was born on March 11, 1912 in Cleveland, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on April 19, 1937 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1937, his rookie year, he hit .194 with 0 home runs and 24 RBI. Young played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 4 year career.
