Del Wilber (Delbert Quentin Wilber) was born on February 24, 1919 in Lincoln Park, Michigan. He made his Major League debut on April 21, 1946 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1951, his rookie year, he hit .278 with 8 home runs and 34 RBI. Wilber played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Del Wilber's best season was 1951, when he hit for a .278 average.
