Defensive efficiency (baseball)

In baseball, defensive efficiency is the rate at which balls put into play are converted into outs by a team's defense, or (1 - BABIP). This is a better measure of team defensive ability than fielding percentage because it measures team range as well as their ability to avoid errors.
