Dee Fondy (Dee Virgil Fondy) was born on October 13, 1924 in Slaton, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1951 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1951, his rookie year, he hit .271 with 3 home runs and 20 RBI. Fondy played for the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Dee Fondy's best season was 1953, when he slugged 18 home runs, hit for a .309 average and knocked in 78 runs.
