Dear Omar: Let Glavine Walk

If there's one thing I've learned from being an agent, granted in a different field from sports, is that there is only one constant: If you make someone a fair offer, and the person doesn't accept within a relatively short amount of time, it never works out. People just don't wait to say yes in something they're interested in. Tom Glavine is desperately trying to work things out with Atlanta.

As a Mets fan, this really pisses me off. I don't want him here at all. He's 41, very expensive, and being a Met is not his first choice. Omar, slide Glavine out and bring Barry in.

"Bring Barry In???" What?! Oh, my. The Mets (and Minaya) are surely smarter than that. Aren't they?

Oh. Thank Zues! Now it makes perfect sense and I can whole-heartedly endorse this opinion! Zito would be light years better than Glavine - especially if signed to a long-term deal!

Why can't we have Barry Zito and Tom Glavine. I think our rotation would be pretty solid with those two at the top of the rotation.

We overpay, because there is no one better on the market. Pitching is precious and the Mets have a chance to win a Series.

One of these days, I'll write an opinion on this, but here's the ultimate question: You have about $40 million to spend next year on players. What do you spend it on?

THIS YEARS METS HAVE REALLY DISAPPOINTED ME, HOW MANY GAMES HAVE WE BLEW, LEAVING RUNNERS STRANDED. DELGADO, THIS GUY HAS KILLED US. THIS TEAM IS NOT AS GOOD AS LAST YEAR, OMAR DID VERY LITTLE TO IMPROVE THE TEAM, IN FACT HE MADE SOME VERY POOR MOVES WITH SCHOENWEISS, KEEPING HEILMAN, MOTA. STARTERS ARE A BIG ?, MAINE , PEREZ OK, EL DUQUE GIVES YOU 1 OF 3 WINS, AFTER THAT SOSA IS AWFUL, PEDRO IS A PIPE DREAM, YET HE DID NOTHING TO MAKE US BETTER. THE OUTFIELD IS OLD AND SLOW, EXCEPT FOR BELTRAN WHO IS AS DURABLE AS A GIRL SCOUT. DO YOU REALLY THINK WE CAN BEAT BOSTON, DETROOIT, ANGELS, THATS IF WE GET THERE. ANYTHING LESS THAN A RING IS UNACCEPTABLE. I AM JUST TIRED OF BLOWING GAMES. YOIU SAY WE ARE IN FIRST PLACE, SO WHAT, LOOKING AHEAD, IT WILL BE TOUGH TO WIN IT ALL , SINCE WE STOOD PAT. YOU WOULD THINK WE HAVE A BUNCH OF KIDS IN THE MINORS THAT ARE ALL PHENOMS, SINCE WE KEPT THEM ALL AT THE TRADE DEADLINE. WHAT IS OUR RECORD SINCE THE LAST 40 GAMES, MAYBE 500. THIS GUY OMAR HAS SEEMINGLY LOST HIS TOUCH. HOW COULD HE KEEP HEILMAN, THIS GUY HAS BLOWN 5 GAMES AFTER LOSING THE PENNANT. FRUSTRATING --YOUR 07 METS, THANK YOU OMAR
