David Taylor (David Merritt Taylor) was born on October 17, 1949 in Statesville, North Carolina. After going to high school at Chapel Hill (NC), Taylor attended Catawba College. Taylor made his professional debut in the NFL in 1973 with the Baltimore Colts. He played for the Baltimore Colts for his entire 6 year career.
