David Merritt (David Lee Merritt) was born on September 8, 1971 in Raleigh, North Carolina. After going to high school at Millbrook (Raleigh, NC), Merritt attended North Carolina State University. Merritt made his professional debut in the NFL in 1993 with the Phoenix Cardinals. He played for the Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix Cardinals over the course of his 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1994 was David Merritt's best year.
