Dave Stapleton (David Leslie Stapleton) was born on January 16, 1954 in Fairhope, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on May 30, 1980 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1980, his rookie year, he hit .321 with 7 home runs and 45 RBI. Stapleton played for the Boston Red Sox for his entire 7 year career.

Most people believe that Dave Stapleton's best season was 1982, when he knocked in 65 runs.
