[edit] Biography

David Justice (David Christopher Justice) was born on April 14, 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on May 24, 1989 for the Atlanta Braves. In 1990, his rookie year, he hit .282 with 28 home runs and 78 RBI. Justice played for the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 14 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was David Justice's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2000, when he slugged 41 home runs, hit for a .286 average and knocked in 118 runs. However, others believe that it was 1993, when he slugged 40 home runs and knocked in 120 runs.

Justice was also one of the players named in baseball's Mitchell Report. According to the report, Justice made just one purchase of HGH in 2000 from former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski and paid by check (Radomski claims he cashed the check). Former Yankees trainer Brian McNamee alleges that Justice asked McNamee about HGH in 2000 or 2001, and that Justice also confessed he obtained HGH from Radomski.

Prior to the allegations by Radomski and McNamee, Justice met with investigators for the Mitchell Report. He named many players of whom he suspected, but had no direct knowledge of their use, and also said that he had "thousands" of conversations with fellow players about steroid use. He also claimed that, in his entire career, no team he was a part of, nor the Commissioner's Office or the MLBPA ever mentioned steroids. He also claims that he had never been warned about the side effects of steroids or that they were a banned substance.

After gathering evidence from McNamee and Radomski, the investigators for the Mitchell Report attempted to meet with Justice. Justice did not respond to their invitations.
