Espn.com is reporting that the Washington Nationals have hired Davey Johnson to work as a special consultant to GM Jim Bowden. Davey will be an active contributor on player personnel matters, including the scouting of major league and minor league players.
Davey Johnson managed the Mets, Orioles, Reds and Dodgers during a 14 year career, most notably leading the Mets to the 1986 World Series championship.
A winner wherever he goes, this should be a good move for the Nationals.
