Dave Winfield (David Mark Winfield) was born on October 3, 1951 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He made his Major League debut on June 19, 1973 for the San Diego Padres. In 1973, his rookie year, he hit .277 with 3 home runs and 12 RBI. Winfield played for the San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, California Angels, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 22 year career.

Most people believe that Dave Winfield's best season was 1979, when he slugged 34 home runs, hit for a .308 average and knocked in 118 runs.
