Born on October 19, 1966 in Montgomery, Alabama, Dave Veres (David Scott Veres) played for the Houston Astros, Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies, St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 10 year career. Veres broke into the bigs on May 10, 1994 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 2.26 ERA in 103.1 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dave Veres's best season was 2000, when he posted a 2.85 ERA, notched 29 saves and struck out 67 batters.
