Born on June 22, 1949 in Maysville, Kentucky, Dave Tomlin (David Allen Tomlin) played for the Cincinnati Reds, San Diego Padres, Montreal Expos and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 13 year career. Tomlin broke into the bigs on September 2, 1972 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 4.34 ERA in 58 innings pitched in 1974, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dave Tomlin's best season was 1977, when he posted a 3.01 ERA and struck out 55 batters.
