Born on March 2, 1953 in Euclid, Ohio, Dave Tobik (David Vance Tobik) played for the Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners over the course of his 8 year career. Tobik broke into the bigs on August 26, 1978 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.33 ERA in 68.2 innings pitched in 1979, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dave Tobik's best season was 1982, when he posted a 3.56 ERA and struck out 63 batters.
