Born on September 18, 1946 in Vacaville, California, Dave Sells (David Wayne Sells) played for the California Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 4 year career. Sells broke into the bigs on August 2, 1972 with the California Angels, and put up a 3.71 ERA in 68 innings pitched in 1973, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dave Sells's best season was 1973, when he posted a 3.71 ERA and notched 10 saves.
