Dave Purling (David Alan Purling) was born on June 26, 1962 in Long Beach, California. After going to high school at San Marcos (Santa Barbara, CA), Purling attended the University of Southern California. Purling made his professional debut in the NFL in 1987 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams for his entire 1 year career.
