Dave Parker (David Gene Parker) was born on June 9, 1951 in Grenada, Mississippi. He made his Major League debut on July 12, 1973 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1973, his rookie year, he hit .288 with 4 home runs and 14 RBI. Parker played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays and California Angels over the course of his 19 year career.

Most people believe that Dave Parker's best season was 1978, when he slugged 30 home runs, hit for a .334 average and knocked in 117 runs.
