Born on October 31, 1942 in Billings, Montana, Dave McNally (David Arthur McNally) played for the Baltimore Orioles and Montreal Expos over the course of his 14 year career. McNally broke into the bigs on September 26, 1962 with the Baltimore Orioles, and put up a 4.58 ERA in 125.2 innings pitched in 1963, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dave McNally's best season was 1968, when he posted a 1.95 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 202 batters.

  • Traded by Baltimore Orioles with Rich Coggins and Bill Kirkpatrick to Montreal Expos in exchange for Ken Singleton and Mike Torrez (December 4, 1974).

  • Became the first pitcher to hit a grand slam in a world series game. He did it in game 3 of the 1970 classic against the Reds.
  • Was one of 4 Orioles pitchers that earned 20+ wins in 1971.
