Dave Long

Dave Long (David Frank Long) was born on September 6, 1944 in Jefferson, Iowa. After going to high school at Thomas Jefferson (Cedar Rapids, IA), Long attended the University of Iowa. Long made his professional debut in the NFL in 1966 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the New Orleans Saints and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that 1971 was Dave Long's best year, as he recovered 4 opponents fumbles.
