Born on August 17, 1950 in Syracuse, New York, Dave Lemanczyk (David Lawrence Lemanczyk) played for the Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays and California Angels over the course of his 8 year career. Lemanczyk broke into the bigs on April 15, 1973 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.00 ERA in 78.2 innings pitched in 1974, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dave Lemanczyk's best season was 1977, when he posted a 4.25 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 105 batters.
