[edit] Biography

Born on July 29, 1959 in Glens Falls, New York, Dave LaPoint (David Jeffrey LaPoint) played for the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 12 year career. LaPoint broke into the bigs on September 10, 1980 with the Milwaukee Brewers, and put up a 3.42 ERA in 152.2 innings pitched in 1982, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Dave LaPoint's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1988, when he posted a 3.25 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 98 batters. However, others believe that it was 1984, when he posted a 3.96 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 130 batters.
