Dave Jennings (David Tuthill Jennings) was born on June 8, 1952 in New York, New York. After going to high school at Garden City (NY), Jennings attended St. Lawrence University. Jennings made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants and New York Jets over the course of his 14 year career.

Most people believe that 1979 was Dave Jennings's best year, as he dropped 19 punts inside the 20 and had a 42.7 yard punt average.
