Dave Grayson (David Lee Grayson, Sr.) was born on June 6, 1939 in San Diego, California. After going to high school at Lincoln (San Diego, CA), Grayson attended San Diego City College and the University of Oregon. Grayson made his professional debut in the AFL in 1961 with the Dallas Texans. He played in the AFL for 9 years, playing for the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Texans over the course of his 9 year AFL career.Grayson also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Oakland Raiders the entire time.

Most people believe that 1964 was Dave Grayson's best year, as he picked off 7 passes and had 679 kick return yards.
