Born on June 23, 1949 in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, Dave Goltz (David Allan Goltz) played for the Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Dodgers and California Angels over the course of his 12 year career. Goltz broke into the bigs on July 18, 1972 with the Minnesota Twins, and put up a 2.67 ERA in 91 innings pitched in 1972, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Dave Goltz's best season was 1977, when he posted a 3.36 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 186 batters.
